On 8 September The New Kids on the Blocks took on the Worcester Legends in the President’s Charity Gala, with proceeds going to Acorns.

Malcolm Latta (current WSC Coach and previous WSC Head Coach) with the help of the President, Sally Hunt’s daughter Dani, organised the Worcester Legends Old Boys and Girls Team – ‘coaxing them back into their Speedos’. Between the 13 swimmers they have collectively won over 1000 medals at Counties, 40-50 medals in the Midlands, 2 National medals and 2 International medals – quite a daunting team for the 40 current swimmers on the Mark Stowe’s New Kids on the Blocks team to take on!
The programme was made up of relays, boys/girls/mixed, front crawl/medley/breast/back/fly plus the woggle relay and the exciting cannon. The final results were very close, but the Worcester Legends took the winning spot by 104 points to 96.
Everyone had a wonderful afternoon, with much shouting from the spectators’ gallery and the teams, and of course a number of Whooshes!
