Hi folks

Please excuse tardy email, I had hoped to get this info out before now – doh!

Anyway, as always, we will target a number of Level 1 Long Course open meets this Spring:

Sheffield Premier – Friday 8 – Sunday 10th March

Derby Excel @ Sheffield – Friday 15 – Sunday 17th March

Bristol – Friday 5th – Sunday 7th April

My “plan” is that entry to each Meet will be aimed at slightly different groups of swimmers…

  • Sheffield Premier – swimmers from Performance squad aiming to qualify for Olympic Trials and/or National Summer Championships
  • Derby Excel – swimmers from Performance and Regional Potential squads aiming to qualify for National Summer Championships and/or West Midland Championships (the qualifying times for which have come out this week, just follow this link: Summer Championships 2024 – West Midland Swimming)
  • Bristol – any swimmers from Performance, Regional Potential and Competitive Development squads with the qualifying times for this Level 1 meet (PB faster than), but again especially those aiming to qualify for and compete at National Summer Championships and/or West Midland Championships

The meet packs – detailing the programme of events, qualifying times, T&C, etc – for all 3 competitions are available online:

Derby Excel Spring Qualifier (gomotionapp.com)

As always, entries for all the Meets will be handled by the Club.  I’ll forward info on how to do that – and the deadlines – for Derby Excel and Bristol in due course but entries for the Sheffield Premier meet need to be in by next Friday (!) so we will go “old school” for those, swimmers to simply email me with details of what they wish to swim by 12 noon next Wednesday (24th Jan)

Now please note that Worcester and Pershore will be jointly hosting a Level 3 short course event at Perdiswell the same weekend as Sheffield Premier – info will be out very very soon – and that Meet will be far more suitable for most, it will certainly be an excellent opportunity to chase West Mids QT’s, so as I say, Sheffield Premier is for swimmers aiming for Olympic Trials and/or Summer Nationals qualification only please

I hope that’s all ok / makes a little sense…but as always, if you have any queries, please feel free to contact me

Kind regards

Mark

PS age at date for Sheffield Prem and Derby Excel meets is 31st December but it is 7th April for Bristol – and I believe only entry times achieved at Level 1, 2 or 3 meets will be accepted (not L4 like Club Champs and Arena League)
