On Sunday 11th May, the Club will again be taking part in the Rotary Club’s annual sponsored “Swim the Severn” Challenge in aid of charity.
From 5-6.30pm at Sansome Walk, swimmers from all parts of Worcester Swimming Club – from Novices & Improvers and Pre-Comp through Junior Development/County to the Senior squads – are invited to take up the challenge, first of completing as many lengths as possible and then raising lots of money for charity.
There is no need to register, just rock up on the day.
This year, the sponsorship proceeds raised by Worcester Swimming Club swimmers with be split between the Rotary Club (to support their fantastic Tanzanian school project, and a charity of our choosing… last year, it was the Worcester Hospital premature baby unit…and we raised a massive £1,266.91, wow!
Please, please, please do get involved… as a Club, this is our chance to give something back to the wider community… so download a sponsorship form now and start raising money straightaway… if all the swimmers at the Club raised £5 each, we would easily top £2K!!!
For those swimmers competing at the Gloucester Open Meet on the same day, but we would like you to get involved as well please… we will count the lengths they complete in their warm up and races, and find a way for them to raise some £ too.
